Why we still build models

A cardboard model on the table answers questions a render never raises.

Every project gets a physical model before it gets a render. It takes a day to build and it sits on the meeting table, where everyone can pick it up.

A model shows how a roof meets a wall, where the light lands at four in the afternoon and how big a room really is. A render shows what we decided to show.

Clients point at a model. They nod at a render. We would rather be pointed at.
