What we look at on a first site visit

Sun, wind, neighbours and the one tree worth keeping: what we write down in the first hour.

White house with a low pitched roof, glass garage doors and a planted entrance court

The first hour on a site is worth more than a week at the desk. We arrive early and stay until the light changes.

We write down where the sun rises and sets, where the wind comes from, what the neighbours can see, and which tree is worth building around.

Then we stand where the table might go, and wait.
